The Calophylum tree produces bunches of small fruits that contain the nuts that will become Tamanu oil. Also known as Foraha oil the berries are picked then dried out for around 8 weeks, during this time the nut reduces in size and becomes saturated with the oil then the nuts are cold pressed to extract the oil. It is worth noting if you have an allergy to any other plants in this family please avoid this oil as you are likely to have an allergic reaction to it as well.
